Intention Setting
with Kristy Hoan
Welcome to my new series called Facial Features, where I bring in a friend of mine or a special guest to talk about a topic they're passionate about while I give them a facial in my space.
In Episode 1, we are talking with my friend Kristy about letting go of 2023 and moving forward with new intentions into 2024. We get into creating new habits and friendships and how 2024 is the year of the feminine and collaboration. I hope you enjoy this conversation let’s get into it.
Kristy and I have been friends for years now, and when I thought of someone who I wanted to bring in to chat about intentions and letting go of the past to move forward into the present and future she was the first person that came to mind.
FOR THOSE OF YOU THAT DON’T KNOW YOU WHY DON’’T YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF
Kristy: “Hi everyone my name is Kristy, and I have a private practice here in Lacombe. I am a shamanic healer and psychological and spiritual coach. I work with people individually or in groups and we go within to work with any block, limiting beliefs, and distortions and work to heal into a person so they can start making moves of what there supposed to do so that they can come into alignment with their purpose and their self.”
BECAUSE IT IS THE START OF JANUARY WHERE PEOPLE TYPICALLY LIKE TO SET NEW INTENTIONS AND GOALS WHAT WOULD YOU SAY IS THE NUMBER ONE THING PEOPLE SHOULD LOOK FOR WHEN SETTING GOALS AND INTENTIONS FOR 2024 OR MAYBE EVEN LEAVING THINGS IN THE PAST?
Kristy: “I think the first thing people have to do is ask themselves if they are they actually ready to let something go. We say I want to leave this behind and I’m done with that it doesn’t serve me but the thing is what you might not be realizing is what has always been has been serving you because there’s a purpose for it whether you like it or not.
When you are really ready to leave something behind you almost have to come into a thank you and an honouring of whatever your letting go of. It had a purpose it did serve something whether it was wounded or healthy. Acknowledge it, seeing it, taking the lessons and asking yourself what did I learn from this? because everything has a purpose and then from there you can start taking the steps forward.”
SO NOW THAT PEOPLE HAVE LET GO OF WHATEVER IT IS THEY NEEDED TO HOW DO THEY MOVE FORWARD IN 2024 WITH NEW INTENTIONS?
Kristy: “I think you need to have a healed outcome. A healed outcome is how do you want to be. What’s the state of being? Do you want to be abundant, fulfilled, confident, or happy? From there it’s easier to start making those steps and working on the process of moment-by-moment. Ask yourself what type of person do I have to be, and what type of things do i have to let go of to be this person. Doing visualizations in your morning practice is huge because then you're starting your day in a very intentional mindset every day.”
WHERE DO YOU THINK IS A GOOD PLACE FOR PEOPLE TO START WHEN CULTIVATING A MORNING PRACTICE?
Kristy: “You have to understand that It’s going to be a little bit uncomfortable because you're doing something different, but anything that’s going to be great is going to be a little bit discomforting. Number one is to start with something small and notice a difference, feel the difference, and then continue to add to it.”
WHAT ARE YOUR 2024 INTENTIONS
Kristy: “Being. Balancing my life with living. Enjoying my life and living my life based on how I want to live it and playing. I am ready to start stepping into who I need to be, by getting my website into my main hub, starting my podcast, starting programs, working with groups, speaking and a lot more collaboration with people.”
LASTLY WHAT ELSE DO YOU PERSONALLY LIKE TO DO FOR SELF-CARE?
Kristy: “I like to make my life self-care. For me self-care is everything down to the food I eat, how I eat it and listening to my body. I like to do self-care Sunday with a hair mask, eye patches, and self-tanner if I want to, but I try to do something every single day as part of my routine like cold showers in the morning, dry brushing, using these amazing cryo sticks. I try to make it very simple but things that are going to give to me and fill me up and bring me joy.”
